The 3rd China-US Entrepreneur Innovation and Cooperation Forum was Successfully Held in Washington. DC

On October 4th, the "Third Sino-US Entrepreneur Innovation and Cooperation Forum - Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Sino-US Economic and Trade Cooperation" was held in Washington. DC successfully. More than 70 experts and representatives in the fields of politics and business from both China and the United States attended the meeting and discussed future cooperation opportunities. The forum was initiated and hosted by the US-China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance and a wealth of other science and technology institutions in Washington. DC. Wang Zhongcheng, the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology Counselor, and Kong Zhiqiang, the representative of the China International Chamber of Commerce in the United States, also attended the meeting.

Entrepreneurs Gave Speech

Qiu Qiyu, chairman of the US-China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance, and Ye Yubin, the president of the Alliance, first gave a welcome speech. Guest Speakers, including US Victorian Senator, Richard Hayden Black; Maryland Deputy Secretary of Commerce Benjamin, H. Wu; Maryland Department of Commerce, Asia Pacific Manager, Bu Lanxuan; Virginia Lawton County International Business Development Director, Robert McCollar; Lawton County Economic Development Business Development Officer, Rick Morris, delivered speeches respectively with a common hope for deeper communication and cooperation between the US and China in terms of trade and multilateral investment. Benjamin H. Wu also stated his wish for the next Anniversary event holding in Maryland.

The keynote speeches were given by the founder of Kangdao International Consulting Co., the former chief financial officer of the US Department of Labor, and the well-known Chinese leader, Samuel Mo. Mr. Mo reviewed the 40-year history of Sino-US cooperation, analyzed the current obstacles, and looked forward to future development. Mr. Mo believes that the United States should recognize and learn to adapt to China’s rise; China, on the other hand, needs to pay more attention to the rules of the United States and the world. He firmly believes that the political elites of both sides can find a new balance point for two contrary’s interaction; meanwhile, civil organizations in the two countries need to contribute their efforts too. Then, Shi Hongjun, senior consultant of the China-US Exchange Development Foundation, and Kong Zhiqiang, the representative of the China International Chamber of Commerce in the United States shared their experiences and opinions on ways to promote Sino-US cooperation. Both of them agreed that Sino-US friendship should continue to improve and strive to exert a positive impact on the world.

Guest Speakers including Neil Wasserman, Professor from George Washington University, Barry Cohen, Global Business Development Director of 20/20 GeneSystems, Xing Chuanhua, President of the American Chinese Biomedical Technology Association, and Zhang Xiaochen, Chairman of FinTech4Good, introduced the new technologies and applications in the fields of blockchain, genetic testing and artificial intelligence.

Xie Suoliang, the chairman of Weiruidas School, introduced the development of the school. Ms. Feng Ling, the vice president of Qingdao Branch of China International Chamber of Commerce and the chairman of Qingdao Huayi Kexing Development Co., Ltd. introduced the members of the domestic delegation and showed a promotional video about Qingdao. They welcomed everyone to visit Qingdao and have more trade activities at Qingdao one day. The delegation of Qingdao was awarded the title of “honorary citizen” in Lawton County, Virginia. This represents that the cooperation and communications between the two countries continue to deepen and progress.

After the speeches, the organizer held a dinner to celebrate Sino-US economic and trade cooperation and welcomed domestic guests. At the same time, Mr. Xue Haipei, President of the American Chinese Federation, was invited to give a speech. Xue Taipei analyzed the development and current difficulties of the interaction between the US and China. He also encouraged Chinese people to actively participate in mainstream US politics, safeguard Chinese rights and interests, and promote the healthy development of Sino-US relations.
